Classic Black Organic Iced Tea - Whole Leaf
We have found an award winning black tea perfect for making iced tea! After a few taste tests we have picked our favorite and are going to be offering it in 8oz and 16oz bags. Why Organic? Many tea farmers spray their plants upwards of 15 to 20 times each year depending on pest infestations. Most of the chemicals they are using (such as - Aldrin 20E, Carbofuran 30, Endosulfan 35 EC, Malathion 50 EC, Tetradifon 8 EC, Calixin 80 EC) are listed as hazardous and toxic, and a number of them are banned in western countries.
1oz makes 1 gallon of iced tea so depending on how many gallons you make a week these two size offerings could last you a month (8oz at 2 gallons a week) or 2 months (16oz at 2 gallons a week).
We also offer an organic cotton drawstring tea bag perfect for brewing your tea. These bags can be used over and over easily lasting all year.
Tip: to avoid brewing in any plastics, I heat my water in a tea kettle, and place my tea in the tea bag and put the tea bag inside a stainless steel cooking pot or stock pot. Once it cools you can then transfer the tea into a plastic or glass tea pitcher and add enough water to make a gallon. Stir. (if you add sweetener add it to the hot tea where it will disolve best).
